Brazil baggage

Please note: We have revised some of our checked bag policies for travel worldwide. For the latest checked baggage updates, please review all relevant baggage pages before you travel.
Updated: October 19, 2011

The following information regarding pets, special items and excess, oversized and overweight baggage applies only for travel to/from Brazil. All fees shown below are for one direction of travel only, and apply only when checking in with United. When checking in with a United codeshare partner, please contact that carrier regarding its policies relating to pets, special items and oversized, overweight and excess baggage.

Please note:

  • All fees shown below are for one direction of travel only and are listed in U.S. dollars. When checking in with United at international stations, fees will be assessed at an equivalent amount in the local currency.
  • When a single direction of travel includes multiple flights, baggage fees will be assessed based on origin and destination, and include any connections as long as your baggage is checked to your final destination.
  • If an item fits the criteria for more than one of these fees, then multiple fees may apply. See the Oversized, Overweight and Excess Baggage page for details.
  • See the Special Items page for requirements and restrictions relating to special baggage items.
